In the coming weeks the United States Senate will begin the debate on historic Health Insurance reform.
Last week, Six Senators were identified as “key” to passage of Affordable Healthcare for America Act:
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid faces a number of obstacles to passing health care reform but his main task is to keep his caucus united for not one, but two, supermajority votes, just to get the reform bill an up or down on the Senate floor. Failure to get 60 votes to push past either of those two procedural chokepoints could derail the reform bill.
These six members are Ben Nelson, Blanche Lincoln, Mary Landrieu, Joe Lieberman, Evan Bayh, and Kent Conrad, and they need to hear from you! A letter is one of the best ways to communicate with your elected officials.

LETTER 1
Dear ____________:
Health care reform is urgent.
We need action now. Costs are
soaring, but we receive less
care. Please support health care
reform that controls costs, stops
insurance company abuses,
includes a strong public health
insurance plan option and does
not raise costs for working
families.
LETTER 2
Dear ____________:
I urge you to support working
families, not insurance
companies, in your health
care reform votes. We must
hold insurance companies
accountable, and that means
including the choice of a public
health insurance plan option. A
public health insurance option is
essential to genuine health care
reform.
LETTER 3
Dear _______________:
A public health insurance plan
option is the best way to lower
health care costs—it will ensure
real competition, keep private
insurance companies honest and
guarantee that everybody can
get health coverage.
