Webpage Specialist / Researcher. The Kansas AFL-CIO, a non-profit organization representing Kansas’ organized labor affiliates, seeks a part-time skilled Webpage Specialist / Researcher. This person will be part of a campaign to increase online presence and assess certain sectors of the un-registered voter population with a focus on young eligible voters.
The person in this position will work closely with Kansas AFL-CIO Staff. He or she must have the initiative and persistence to work diligently on the project’s objectives. Internet and Computer skills are an integral part of the job (see the Position Description below for details). Strong interpersonal communication and union organizing skills are relevant experience. Experience in issue campaigns involving grass root efforts, community organizing, and political campaigns is preferred.
Duration: On a Temporary basis initially for 6 months, but renewable up to 6 additional months.
Pay: The wage has been set at $15.00 per hour; this position is not eligible for benefits

Webpage Assistant / Researcher—–Position Description
The Webpage Assistant and Researcher adds to the online presence of the organization by researching, developing and contributing newsworthy materials and communications via the web to people within the labor movement and the general public. This person will have knowledge in HTML and Java Script to use the “Get Active”software. Experience in “Flash” or developing Flash applications would also be helpful. She / he will also conduct research to report data on Kansas’s voters, seek to develop a strategy for outreach of targeted potential voters and implement that strategy.
